ARCACare homes, Palermo

Our residences

Elisir and Strauss are care homes (comunità alloggio) in Palermo for older people who need daily assistance. They are homes, not wards: shared rooms where people eat and talk together, furnished bedrooms, staff who know every resident.

In every residence

  • Staff on site day and night

There is always someone in the house, at night and on public holidays too.

  • Personal care

Help with washing, dressing, getting up and moving around, at each person’s own pace.

  • Meals

Breakfast, lunch, an afternoon snack and dinner every day, with special diets when needed.

  • Medication and GP

We give prescribed medication, keep in touch with each resident’s GP and accompany residents to appointments.

  • Advanced healthcare

We are accredited with ADI24 (opens in a new tab) (doctors, nurses, physiotherapists) and SAMOT (opens in a new tab) (palliative care), providers within the Sicilian Regional Health Service, which work in our residences every day providing advanced healthcare and medical support.

  • Cleaning and laundry

Daily cleaning, washing of bed linen and personal clothes.

  • Tax advice

We help you use the deductions and allowances that reduce tax on care costs, and deal with other paperwork.

  • Disability and attendance allowance

We help you prepare applications for civil disability status and the attendance allowance (indennità di accompagnamento), so your family member receives the support they are entitled to.

  • Families kept informed

We call you when something changes, and you can call us whenever you like.

How moving in works

  1. We talk

You tell us about your family member and what you need, by phone or through the form.

  2. You visit

You see the residence, meet the staff, look at the bedrooms and shared spaces.

  3. We prepare the move

We gather the information we need, agree on timing and support the resident through the first days.

We can also help you apply for civil disability status and the attendance allowance (indennità di accompagnamento), if your family member is entitled to them.

Come and meet us

A visit tells you more than any description. We will show you around, introduce the staff and answer your questions.
