The residence

Casa Strauss is a care home for older people who need daily assistance in the Matteotti district of Palermo, in the same building as Elisir.
It is furnished like a traditional Palermo family home: parquet floors, double doors painted with landscapes, antique furniture, paintings and rugs. The dining room has a crystal chandelier; the kitchen has a round table in Sicilian majolica.
Many residents recognise objects and surroundings they have known all their lives. For someone leaving their own home, that matters.
